We are recruiting to hire an experienced technologist as a Senior Aerospike Database Reliability Engineer for our Availability and Platform Support initiatives within the Aerospike Administration and Operations team. We are seeking a results-oriented technologist with a passion and proven track record for DB support, automation and delivery at scale. This role is for an individual contributor focused on leading, inspiring and collaborating with a team of highly motivated and talented technicians in meeting our business-driven technology objectives.

What you'll do:

+ Will be responsible for administration and maintenance of Aerospike NoSQL database

+ Perform database upgrades, OS patching, performance tuning and support activities

+ Create scripts to automate database maintenance and administration tasks

+ Understand upcoming database features and provide guidance to the application teams

+ Benchmarking new features and their impact to the application availability and performance

+ Participate in database capacity planning activities for new application features

+ Review application database design and provide critical feedback

+ Identify opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operations problems on a large enterprise and mission critical applications

+ Document and maintain standard operating procedures w.r.t the database

+ Aerospike in the cloud setup in Kubernetes cluster

What you have

Required Qualifications:

+ 7+ years of experience with administration and support of Enterprise NoSQL databases like Aerospike, MongoDB

+ 7+ years of experience in writing automation scripts, building application dashboards for proactive monitoring, setting up Alerts for early determination of the issues

+ In depth knowledge of database concepts, replication strategies and high availability architectures

+ Experience with database backup and recovery, patching, upgrades, performance tuning activities

+ Familiarity with Linux system administration, troubleshooting, and tuning

+ Development experience in one or more or programming languages such as .Net, Java, Powershell, Python, and Bash

+ Working knowledge of logging aggregation tools such as Splunk, promethus, grafana or similar tools

+ Previous experience in GitHub and harness

+ Previous experience in using SALT or Ansible for automation of operational database tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Financial services industry experience

+ Experience with cloud providers like GCP, AWS

+ Agile methodologies

+ Strong customer orientation with an affinity to proactively own, communicate, and follow-through projects and issues

+ Extreme sense of ownership to resolve problems in a distributed environment

+ A self-starter with the ability and confidence to independently resolve issues and bring results back to the team
