Hours:

Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm; schedule may flex to 8:00am-4:00pm, 9:00am-5:00pm, 10:00am-6:00pm with occasional evening 12:00pm-8:00pm

Summary:

In conjunction with the Director of Pharmacy, ensures compliance with the rules and regulations that govern the practice of Pharmacy. This position is considered the supervising pharmacist of record.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

+ Graduate of an accredited college of Pharmacy required

+ Professionally licensed in New York State required

+ Current registration certificate to practice Pharmacy in New York State required

EXPERIENCE

+ Demonstrated experience in long term care

+ One (1) year management experience preferred

+ Experience in program and service development, quality assurance, medication use indicator experience, and cost containment programs

+ IV clinical experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY

+ Ability to operate the following machinery such as: laminar flow hood, biological hood, compounding devices, computer systems, prescription balance, automated medication dispensing machines

+ Strong written and verbal communication skills

+ Strong supervisory skills

+ Excellent interpersonal skills

+ Ability to convey information to department personnel in an understandable manner

+ Ability to coordinate activities of multiple personnel

+ Good manual dexterity

+ Knowledge of math

+ Computer skills

+ Ability to lead Long Term Care Pharmacy staff
