    Job Descriptions:

    SUMMARY

    Under general direction of the Director of SSA, the Assistant Director of SSA, Intake, Eligibility, & Employment Services, is responsible for assuring the health and safety of people served. Ensures the delivery of service and support administrative services for people as defined in Ohio Revised Code, which includes intake, eligibility, waiver enrollment (when applicable), planning, development, implementation and evaluation of processes and procedures, the management of resources and the supervision and evaluation of staff involved with delivery of services.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    50%

     

    Provides comprehensive planning and direction for the following services and/or programs: Oversees intake, eligibility and waiver enrollment, employment navigation. Supervises, assigns responsibilities to and evaluates SSA supervisors. Plans, administers and evaluates programs as necessary for their efficient management and operation of any specialized service and support administration responsibility. Assures that Federal Rules and Regulations, Statutes, Administrative Rules, and County Board policies regarding provision of service to people with developmental disabilities are followed.

     

    20%

     

    Assures user-friendly systems are developed that are based upon the philosophies of self-determination and person centered planning to support interactions between people served, families, providers, and SSAs.

     

    15%

     

    Oversight and management of the home and community based services waiting list, assigns resources to people served based upon waiting list rules, oversees the contracting of services based upon individual choice, and the monitoring of services and expenditures based upon contract and funding standards. Provides sound fiscal management of the department’s budget.

     

    10%

     

    Reviews monitoring documents prepared by Service Support Administrators, Provider Compliance citations and monitoring findings. Assures that Plans for Improvement are in place and differences have been reconciled.

     

    5%

     

    Attends staff meetings as required; attends conferences and seminars as required to remain up to date on issues relative to Medicaid and completion of job responsibilities. Assists Privacy Officer to protect confidential information of the individuals served from unauthorized use or disclosure.

     

    An integral part of the job function is ensuring that services, supports and oversight of such supports occurs with the focus on the person served and their family. Person-centered planning is the foundation for all services, supports, monitoring, supervision and coordination for people served.

    SUPERVISORY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    SSA Supervisors (4)that have specialized functions, HCBS waiver funded caseloads and all Clerks within SSA Department.

    OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

    Required Experience:

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     + Prior supervisory experience required, preferably 3-5 years.

    + Valid driver’s license liability insurance and reliable transportation.

    + Required BCII background check in accordance with OAC 5123:2-1-05.

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain Service and Support Supervisor Administration Management certification through the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    + At least five (5) years of experience serving people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities.

    + Bachelor's Degree in special education, public administration, business administration or related field is required.

    + Master’s Degree is preferred.
