    Job Description

    Insight Global is seeking a Big Data Platform Engineer with strong SQL skills for one of its top financial clients. This role will be part of the Regulatory Reporting and Operations Technology team within Global Markets Technology. In this position, the developer will be responsible for identifying and resolving data-related issues. The day-to-day tasks will involve analyzing data and automating solutions using Core Java and Core Python. Strong SQL skills are essential as the developer will need to query and analyze data from databases to troubleshoot and improve processes.

     

    Key responsibilities include interpreting Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), communicating with stakeholders to determine the accuracy of testing requirements, and keeping developers informed about testing work and problems uncovered. The developer will investigate issues in the trading stack using SQL/Kafka/Java to diagnose the loci of the issues and subsequently communicate with the necessary teams to fix these issues as they arise. Additionally, the candidate will keep track of issues identified using JIRA and multiple databases (MYSQL/Oracle). The ideal candidate will have experience in the financial industry and will be comfortable collaborating with internal stakeholders to communicate findings and solutions effectively.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    5+ years of experience with both Core Java and Core Python to code/automate

    Strong knowledge of markets/stock market

    A background in Data Engineering, preferably from a major financial institution

     

    BA in Computer Science or Engineering, with preference given to Advanced Degrees

     

    Intermediate to Advanced coding in Java/Python or any other OOP

     

    Basic to Intermediate SQL experience or Kafka/Middleware Event processing experience Knowledge of FIX protocol

    CAT/EBS

    Experience presenting results in a group setting to senior stakeholders null
