The
Global Airport Process & Analytics team (GAPA) is a high energy, high
visibility group within Delta’s Operational Analysis & Performance (OAP)
division. The GAPA team serves as internal consultants who leverage industrial
engineering and analytical techniques to provide strategic process improvement and
actionable insights for the Airport Customer Support (ACS) business.
The
GAPA team is seeking a Specialist to join a diverse and high caliber analytical
network. As part of the team, you’ll be empowered to develop innovative
solutions and forward-looking insight to help ACS business leaders run a safe
and efficient operation at 300+ airports.
This will require big picture critical thinking and the ability to
articulate actionable insights to Delta-wide executive audiences.
The
Specialist will:
+ Locate and extractdata from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models and reporting
+ Lead or supportothers with in-field data collection and observations
+ Use descriptive,diagnostic, and predictive analytical techniques to highlight businesschallenges, potential solutions, and relevant tradeoffs
+ Develop new basicanalytical models or modify existing ones
+ Transform data intoactionable insights using data visualization and story telling techniques
+ Support processimprovement and project management engagements for both ACS andcross-divisional initiatives
+ Be able to present findingsto Delta-wide executive audiences and cater the message depending on theleadership audience
+ Practicesafety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
+ Have a team firstattitude with the success of our team and business partners as their toppriority
+ Be intellectuallycurious, ask questions and speak up when they have an idea

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
+ Successful candidates will have a basicunderstanding or experience with most, if not all, of the following:
+ MS Office (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, PowerApps, Access and Word)
+ Advanced applications (e.g., simulation,optimization, statistical analysis, optimization, linear regression, machinelearning)
+ SQL, SAS, Python, or other database interfacetools and languages
+ Visual Basic or other basic functionalprogramming tools
+ Visualization Tools (Tableau, Power BI)
+ Must be performing satisfactory in currentposition.
+ Track record of seeking leadership rolesincluding student and community organizations
+ Direct experience communicating withstakeholders, delivering projects end-to-end, and working collaboratively todrive improvement in the overall analytical support of Delta operationsworldwide
+ Must be comfortable working in group andindividual settings.
+ Consistentlyprioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
+ Embracesdiverse people, thinking, and styles.
+ Possessesa high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
+ Isat least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
+ A Bachelor’s degreein Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, InformationScience, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, or other relevantquantitative field required and 2+ years of experience in analysis, informationscience, data visualization, or other relevant quantitative field required.
+ Previous experiencein operational roles
+ Excellentinterpersonal and collaboration skills; excellent ability to seek input fromand understand concerns of other stakeholders; high level of diplomacy andbusiness experience
+ Superior businessacumen with strong financial and analytical skills and airline industryknowledge; ability to make high-impact decisions based on quantitative andqualitative factors
+ Proven track recordof out of the box thinking and an ability to think large scale
