We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to enable effective decision making and prioritization by retrieving, aggregating and analyzing data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format. The ideal candidate will leverage a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to provide a holistic view of the customer experience while going through abuse verification and prevention processes.
This candidate will build deep contextual and domain knowledge, maintain high data accuracy, build scalable BI solutions as well as effectively communicate findings across a wide range of senior stakeholders across product, program, developers, data scientists, and analytics.
This candidate will be a key partner of the global Concessions Abuse Prevention Program team and partner with Product, Program, and Operations teams to provide insights on Concessions and Abuse Rates for various risk factors. Candidate will create key performance indicators for our products to assist in shaping verification treatments, reducing concessions leakage and increasing accuracy of the routing model.
This candidate should be proficient in building scalable data tables and pipelines using SQL, Python, as well as working with a variety of data sources and large data sets to produce digestible business intelligence and actionable insights. This candidate should also have strong communication and project management skills, enabling them to work with key business stakeholders to understand requirements and shape analytical deliverables. This candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to work cross-organizationally.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and maintain datasets in Redshift including data integrity, regulatory compliance and setting alarms to alert users of failures.
- Develop scalable and efficient SQL queries to create data streams and aggregate data across database.
- Design and execute analytic projects in collaboration with business, product, data engineering, finance, analytics, and other specialists.
- Write concise documents to communicate results to stakeholders and visualize data to drive decision making.
- Build a data structure and reporting process through deep dives into various business parameters, which unequivocally establishes truth in data.
- Understand the business challenges and identify data-driven business insights with effective presentation of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders.
- Design and conduct rigorous experiments on the effectiveness and efficiency of different initiatives to improve key output metrics and help shape the long-term strategy.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience writing complex SQL queries
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
