    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Systems Operations Engineer to support the technology Digital Platform Engineering Group. This role will support the platform for ECM Center of Excellence delivery teams for DevOps and production support of multiple critical applications.

    In this role, you will:

    + Lead complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high level systems consultation for the technology teams

    + Work as key participant in large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional area

    + Review and analyze complex technical challenges, as well as escalated support issues related to core business solutions that require in depth evaluation of multiple factors, such as alternatives, enhancements, periodic systems reviews, or improvements to existing systems

    + Make decisions on technical changes and enhancements

    + Consult with engineering team on change design requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives

    + Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and mid to more experienced level managers to resolve systems support issues and achieve goals

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines for applications using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Harness, Azure DevOps.

    + Automate application builds, testing, and deployments across multiple environments.

    + Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software lifecycle.

    + Manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.

    + Monitor application and system performance and proactively address issues.

    + Maintain configuration management and version control across environments.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to deployments, builds, and system integrations.

    + Ensure security, scalability, and reliability across all DevOps processes.

    Required Qualifications:

    + 5+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    + 5+ years' experience in DevOps, with focus on Java based applications.

    + 3+ years' experience troubleshooting environments across the entire ecosystem (i.e. applications to infrastructure), identifying root cause, fixing, and documenting problems, and implementing preventive measures.

    + 3+ years' experience supporting technical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications at the direction of lead architects, including largescale data processing.

    + 3+ years' hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins,Harness,GitLab CI, Bamboo, Azure DevOps).

    + 3+ years' experience with scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Python, Groovy).

    + 3+ years' experience with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

    + 3+ years' experience with cloud platforms (Redhat OCP, AWS, Azure, GCP).

    + 3+ years' experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

    + 3+ years' experience creating code branches in Github

    + 3+ years' experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.

    Desired Qualifications:

    + Prior experience in an SRE role or similar capacity with strong analytical skills and hands-on experience with automating manual tasks.

    + Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and clearly articulate technical concepts.

    + Ability to quickly acquire system/domain knowledge and become a platform SME.

    + Knowledge of ServiceNow, OS (Windows/Unix), scripting(powershell/shell-script), DBs (SQL/Oracle), deployment tools (UCD/Harness), load-balancing solutions (AVI/AG/F5), network communications, cloud systems (PCF, OCP, Azure, GCP) and other technologies such as Tomcat/Kafka/MQ/FTP/NDM.

    + Good understanding and hands-on experience with different monitoring/logging tools and responding to alerts to take the necessary actions to fix the issue.

    + Knowledge of DevOps/RunOps principles and practices and experience with continuous integration deployment pipeline.

    + Familiarity with security best practices and protocols.

    Job Expectations:

    + Ability to lead and manage to production goals, provide L2/L3 application support including platform support functions and SRE initiatives.

    + Consult with delivery teams on design changes requiring solid understanding of technical process controls or standards that influence and drive new initiatives and support deployments, software upgrades and emergency changes to systems.

    + Ability to identify root-cause issues/improvement opportunities, and design approaches. Collaborate and consult with technical peers, colleagues, and senior leaders to resolve systems support issues and achieve objectives. Co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders and vendors for any related issue.

    + Share support responsibilities for critical applications and customer journeys including leading technical resolution of high priority incidents with cross-functional partners, remediation of issues, conducting of blameless postmortems, root cause analysis and introduce continuous improvement solving problems once and for all with the goal of no repeats. Perform trend analysis and taking proactive measures for frequently occurring issues.

    + Exposure to any SRE Concepts and Tools - especially Observability and Automation tools (Splunk, AppD, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic APM, Thousand Eyes, Ansible/AMA, ELK stack). Responsible for delivering SRE Initiatives (Problem Solutioning, Toil Reduction and Observability)

    + Good communication skills and ability to drive adoption of enterprise capabilities, tools, and innovation improving availability in a multi-app ecosystem by evolving observability, monitoring, logging, synthetic monitoring, and chaos engineering.

    + Automate key metrics and IT Service Operations processes including customer impact, availability of critical business flows, SLO/SLI adherence, error tolerance, and reduce time for recovery. Evaluate SLAs, identify gaps, and make recommendations for meeting SLAs.

    + Work in shifts as situations demand & provide on-call support during weekend/holidays. Production & platform functions includes 24x7 standby support & taking responsibility to maintain high availability of systems & applications. Work from the office per company policy.

    + Drive production releases and review application deployments from quality/risk perspective. Work with a customer service mindset and a focus on continuous improvement

    + Plan and execute BCP procedures for applications in scope.

    + Ability to work on-site at approved location

    Pay Range

     

    Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.

     

    96,600.00 - 171,800.00 USD Annual
