Job Overview:

In accordance with hospital and department procedures, mission and goals, is responsible for the administration of the operations of the Psychiatric Emergency and Screening Services. Insure that [unit/department/division] is in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

+ MA/MS degree in Mental Health related field.

+ Minimum of three years post Masters experience in the provision of Emergency/Screening Services with two years of Management Supervisory experience.

+ New Jersey Certification as Psychiatric Screener.

+ Must possess and maintain a valid N.J. State Driver s Licens

Essential Functions:

+ Assures adherence to the N.J. Division of Mental Health and Hospital s regulations governing Screening Centers and JCAHO requirements. Develops Standards of Care to ensure appropriateness of service delivery.

+ Responsible for assuring the submission of State and County statistical reports and assists in the preparation of State and County grant contracts.

+ Responsible for consultation and education services to the County as related to the Screening Center.

+ Responsible for the coordination and administration of the 24 hour, 7 day per week County Screening Center and Clara Maass Medical Center Emergency Services operations. Provides direct services as deemed necessary and appropriate.

+ Participates in the following Committee: Systems Review Committee, Department of Psychiatry Steering Committee and Community based committees.
