SEC Reporting Manager [Hybrid] | Novi, MI
About the Role
Our client, a publicly traded and rapidly growing company headquartered in Novi, MI, is seeking a highly skilled SEC Reporting Manager to join their corporate accounting team. This hybrid role offers a flexible schedule following initial training and will play a pivotal role in preparing external financial statements, ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, and supporting technical accounting matters across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare and review quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K), including accurate XBRL tagging
+ Ensure consistency and compliance of financial statements with SEC and GAAP requirements
+ Manage submission of supplemental filings such as Proxy statements and 8-Ks
+ Collaborate with legal, tax, treasury, and investor relations teams
+ Lead technical accounting research and document accounting positions through formal memoranda
+ Oversee lease accounting, including journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
+ Maintain and enhance accounting policies and internal control procedures related to financial reporting
+ Serve as internal control owner for SEC reporting and lease accounting, addressing deficiencies and implementing corrective actions
+ Coordinate end-to-end disclosure controls for internal and external reporting processes
+ Support strategic projects, including due diligence and integration for M& A transactions

Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
+ CPA required
+ Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate financial reporting
+ Deep understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance
+ Demonstrated expertise in technical accounting and policy development
+ Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
+ Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with senior leadership and cross-functional partners
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office 365
