SANITATION SUPERVISOR

Overview/ Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing the Sanitation Department. Which consists of cleaning and sanitizing the plant to maintain conformance to USDA standards within a schedule to ensure maximum operating time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RERSPONSIBILITIES:

+ Oversees daily operations of the sanitation department **.**

+ Monitor and confirm that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.

+ Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained.

+ Work closely with production supervisors and management.

+ Supervises, train and develop sanitation team members.

+ Develop and follow sanitation procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), USDA and FDA regulations for all sanitation tasks.

+ Set up, stock and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies

+ Comply with, understand and enforces all company policies and standards.

+ Enforce and follow all Food Safety and Plant Safety policies, practices and protocols.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

+ Previous Sanitation experience is required

+ Prior experience in food manufacturing plant or similar; meat experience strongly preferred

+ Current or previous management or supervisor experience.

+ Extensive knowledge and technical skill in sanitation and meat processing jobs and chemicals

+ Managerial skills; good interpersonal relations; ability to handle conflict.

+ Good verbal and written communication skills.

+ Team Player with leadership skills

+ Experience in leading groups of manufacturing employees, including setting team and individual objectives, managing individual and team performance and building a team approach to problem solving.

+ Outstanding communication skills in order to lead engage and motivate individuals and/or teams.

+ A thorough understanding of manufacturing principles and leadership applications within a manufacturing environment.

+ Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel)

+ Detail oriented and strong analytical skills

+ Highly organized

+ **Spanish/English bilingual desired but not required**

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time

+ Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise

+ Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently

+ Safely handling and being exposed to chemicals.

+ May be exposed to stressful situations and schedule changes.

+ Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50# unassisted

+ **Base annual salary** range of **$63k-68k**
