Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our finance team in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting, with a strong focus on standard cost and variance analysis. Experience with Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is strongly preferred. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate cost accounting and support month-end responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Develop and maintain standard costing methodologies for products, ensuring alignment with manufacturing processes.

+ Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.

+ Collaborate with operations and production teams to gather data for accurate costing and budgeting.

+ Assist in the preparation and analysis of COGS reports to provide insights into production efficiency and cost control.

+ Support month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

+ Review and analyze inventory levels, ensuring proper valuation and reporting in compliance with accounting standards.

+ Prepare and present reports and findings to management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for cost optimization.

+ Assist in the development and implementation of cost control measures and best practices.

+ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost accounting.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ Minimum of 3 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.

+ Strong knowledge of standard cost and variance analysis, with a focus on COGS.

+ Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [insert specific software if applicable] is a plus.

+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret financial data.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

+ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
