The Accounting Clerk will play a critical role in supporting the organization’s financial health by assisting in the day-to-day accounting operations and compliance with regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform data entry and maintain accurate general ledger records in compliance with healthcare accounting standards.

    + Process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions, including invoice coding, matching, and approval workflows.

    + Reconcile monthly bank statements, assisting in identifying and resolving discrepancies.

    + Maintain detailed records for grant reporting, patient billing, and vendor payments, ensuring compliance with internal controls.

    + Assist in preparing financial reports for healthcare leadership, including profit-and-loss statements and budget tracking reports.

    + Work closely with the billing and patient finance departments to resolve revenue cycle management issues.

    + Support audits and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other healthcare-related financial rules.

    Requirements

    + High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.

    + 1-3 years of experience as an Accounting Clerk, preferably in the healthcare industry.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, with familiarity in accounting systems such as QuickBooks or NetSuite preferred.

    + Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion.

    + Understanding of healthcare-specific financial activities, such as grant accounting or patient billing systems, is a significant plus.
