Description

We are searching for a skilled and dedicated Attorney/Lawyer to join our team in the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities:

Carrying out investigative interviews with clients, executing factual evaluations, and performing legal studies

• Overseeing a large-scale caseload involving fast-tracked eviction defense issues

• Participating in community enlightenment and remote outreach initiatives

• Defending clients at court proceedings and initiating proactive litigation, which might encompass multi-plaintiff and class lawsuits

• When necessary, overseeing and instructing volunteer legal practitioners, legal support staff, interns, and non-legal volunteers

• Collaborating closely with team members to deliver exceptional legal aid to patrons

• Keeping detailed and precise data on clients and cases for monitoring and reporting purposes

• Assisting with organizational growth and fundraising efforts when required

• Forming relationships with community collaborators to ease clients' access to social security resources.

Requirements

• Must possess a Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Must be a member in good standing with the relevant State Bar Association.

• Proven experience in civil litigation, complex litigation, civil rights litigation, and public interest litigation is required.
