    Accounting Manager

     

    + 3 years as an AM

    + BA is a must

    + Construction experience is a must

     

    Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department and ensures the accurate and timely completion of financial statements, compliance reporting, and internal processes. This role requires exceptional technical accounting expertise, leadership, organization, and the ability to develop and mentor team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Financial Reporting and Compliance:

    + Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

    + Oversee regulatory compliance, including tax filings and audits.

    + Ensure internal controls are implemented effectively and recommend improvements when necessary.

    + Team Management:

    + Lead, mentor, and supervise accounting team members, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and staff accountants.

    + Allocate work effectively and provide ongoing performance feedback.

    + Train and develop team members to enhance their skills and support succession planning.

    + Accounting Operations:

    + Manage daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

    + Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes.

    + Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

    + Budgeting and Forecasting:

    + Support the creation of the annual budget and forecast processes.

    + Provide variance analysis and assist with identifying cost-saving opportunities.

    + System and Process Optimization:

    + Enhance the efficiency of accounting systems and workflows.

    + Drive automation of manual processes and system improvements.

    + Collaborate with other departments on cross-functional initiatives impacting financial systems.

    + Other Duties as Assigned:

    + Assist with special projects, such as M& A accounting, system implementations, or tax planning initiatives.

    + Support the CFO or other financial leaders as needed.

    Requirements

    + BA is a must

    + Construction experience is a must

    Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

    + Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation strongly preferred.

    + years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.

    Technical Skills:

    + In-depth knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulations.

    + Proficient in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

    + Familiarity with budgeting tools, ERP systems, and financial reporting tools.

    Soft Skills:

    + Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

    + Strong organizational and time-management skills to meet tight deadlines.

    + Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to liaise with team members, senior leadership, and external stakeholders.

    + Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
