Description
We are looking for a skilled Property Accountant to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. In this role, you will oversee critical accounting functions related to property management, including accounts receivable, lease administration, and tenant billing. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in interpreting complex retail leases and managing financial transactions with precision. To apply for this role, please call us at 808-531-8056. Responsibilities:
• Process daily cash receipts, bank deposits, and tenant payments while ensuring accurate application to accounts.
• Manage all aspects of accounts receivable, including collections, investigating discrepancies, and preparing late fee notices.
• Review and interpret retail lease agreements to calculate and process rent adjustments and other billing requirements.
• Maintain and update tenant profiles in the Yardi property management system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Generate and review monthly tenant rental and utility charge reports, addressing variances and preparing explanations.
• Handle tenant inquiries regarding statements, sales reports, and charges, providing detailed reconciliations and account summaries.
• Review and input tenant sales data into Yardi, preparing monthly sales and analysis reports for management.
• Collaborate with corporate accounting to review annual reconciliations for common area maintenance and other charges, issuing adjustments as needed.
• Process vendor invoices and reimbursements, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Provide administrative support for lease administration functions, including correspondence and document execution.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Real Estate, or equivalent work experience in commercial property accounting.
• At least three years of experience in an accounting role within property management or real estate.
• Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management software.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting principles.
• Experience with retail lease interpretation and billing calculations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to effectively handle tenant and internal inquiries.
