Are you a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist looking to bring your skills to a mission-driven organization? Our client, a respected non-profit education organization, is seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join their accounting team in a temp-to-hire role. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is passionate about education and thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

This role will focus on accounts payable functions and requires experience with NetSuite and expense reimbursement processes. Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Process full-cycle accounts payable, including data entry, coding, and posting of vendor invoices in NetSuite.

+ Review, process, and reconcile employee expense reimbursements, ensuring alignment with organizational policies.

+ Maintain accurate vendor files and respond to payment inquiries in a timely, professional manner.

+ Coordinate invoice approvals and follow up on discrepancies with internal departments.

+ Assist with month-end closing tasks, including AP accruals and reconciliations.

+ Support the finance team in preparing documentation for audits and grant reporting.

+ Contribute to the improvement of AP processes to increase efficiency and compliance.

+ Experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) processes such as invoicing or receipting is a plus.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a non-profit or education-related setting.

+ Strong working knowledge of NetSuite is required.

+ Familiarity with reimbursement processing and travel expense policies.

+ Understanding of fund accounting and compliance with grant restrictions is a plus.

+ Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.

+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff across all departments.

+ Accounts Receivable experience is a plus but not required.
