Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Payroll Specialist to manage and enhance payroll operations for a multi-state workforce of over 1,800 employees. This role requires expertise in payroll systems, compliance, and process improvement, as well as the ability to mentor less experienced team members and resolve complex payroll issues. Based in Dallas, Texas, this position offers an opportunity to lead payroll initiatives while ensuring the highest level of accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and process bi-weekly payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness using ADP Workforce Now.

• Review and verify timecards and approvals for non-exempt employees, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including multi-state employment and tax laws.

• Conduct audits and prepare detailed payroll reports for internal and external stakeholders, including quarterly and annual reconciliations.

• Act as the primary escalation point for complex payroll issues, providing expert guidance and solutions.

• Mentor and train less experienced payroll staff on best practices, system usage, and compliance standards.

• Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements, including automation and workflow optimization.

• Maintain and update payroll systems to reflect changes such as new hires, terminations, promotions, and benefit adjustments.

• Address sensitive employee inquiries regarding payroll with professionalism and confidentiality.

• Draft and review payroll-related communications, such as memos and templates, to ensure clarity and accuracy. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle payroll processing, preferably for a large workforce.

• Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and familiarity with other payroll systems.

• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, wage and hour laws, and tax compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to handle payroll for over 500 employees with accuracy and efficiency.

• Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements within payroll operations.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to manage escalations effectively.

• Excellent communication skills to mentor staff and address employee inquiries.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in payroll auditing and reporting.
