    Overview

     

    The Director of Operations – Warehousing and Logistics is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of all warehousing, distribution, and logistics operations. This role ensures operational excellence, cost control, and high-quality service delivery while driving continuous improvement and aligning operations with company objectives. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a proven track record in warehousing and logistics management.

    Responsibilities

    + Strategic Leadership:

    + Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehousing, logistics, and distribution operations.

    + Align operational goals with the company’s overall business objectives.

    + Warehousing Operations:

    + Oversee the management of warehouse facilities, ensuring optimal space utilization, inventory accuracy, and efficient processes.

    + Implement and maintain best practices in inventory control, order fulfillment, and material handling.

    + Logistics and Transportation:

    + Manage transportation activities, including carrier selection, route optimization, and delivery performance.

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for domestic and international shipping.

    + Team Leadership and Development:

    + Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals, including warehouse managers, logistics staff, and other team members.

    + Foster a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

    + Performance Management:

    + Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness.

    + Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance productivity and cost efficiency.

    + Budget and Cost Control:

    + Develop and manage budgets for warehousing and logistics operations, ensuring cost-effective practices.

    + Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining service quality.

    + Technology and Systems:

    + Evaluate and implement technologies to streamline operations, including warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).

    + Ensure data integrity and leverage analytics for informed decision-making.

    + Customer Satisfaction:

    + Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment and delivery.

    + Maintain high standards of service to meet customer expectations.

     

    Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

    + Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management, including leadership roles.

    + Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics.

    + Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and data analytics tools.

    + Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.

    + Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Proven ability to manage budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives.
