Role Summary/Purpose:
As a Leader aligned to the analytics organization fully supporting Client Oversight Process (COP) within CD & Sales Governance. The VP, Client Oversight Analytics role is responsible for developing, managing, and collaborative enhancements of the COP analytics process. Inclusion of leading a robust monitoring strategy, data repository, metrics, and essential reporting packages for the oversight of our clients across all five commercial platforms and the Affinity Bank.
This individual will also design, build, and maintain analytical tools and processes to advance our internal capabilities for monitoring, managing, and identifying risk. With a specific focus on aggregating and delivering insights and themes. The role requires strong program management coupled with cross functional understanding and influencing skills. The role will drive activities across multiple functions, workstreams and teams toward the successful on-time completion of key initiatives and run the engine programs.
The successful candidate is able to think both strategically and tactically, influence in a matrixed environment, and embrace a culture of change and innovation. A proven leader with strong communication skills and prior experience with control testing, monitoring and reporting. This role will have a high level of visibility across and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization

Essential Responsibilities:
+ Drive data & reporting strategy for the client oversight monitoring program across all elements inclusive of our Key Control Activities (KCA) including development and maintenance of a data repository, risk metrics, dashboards, and visualizations.
+ Assist in the development and lead components of the execution for our new Governance rating score and supporting metrics for merchant and provider performance management program.
+ Independently extract and analyze data from multiple data sources and conduct analysis to identify trends, themes and propose appropriate action activities.
+ Streamline metric reporting and analytics through increased automation and digitization across all data sources including data collection, aggregation, and stewardship of KCA data and analytical materials.
+ Develop/Refine/Enhance assessment workflows, reporting packages, and escalation triggers.
+ Leverage visualization to provide user friendly reporting packages and insight driven analysis.
+ Provide analytical support for program segmentation strategies and ad-hoc analysis.
+ Partner with business and risk teams, where necessary, to understand impacts from data shifts and recommend enhancements to data where data are currently not available. Track progress on action items.
+ Partner with Client Oversight team an our cross functional partners in the development, refinement, and launch of new Key Control Activities.
+ Direct day to day activities on supporting off shore analytics and reporting team.
+ Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
+ Bachelor's degree OR high school diploma/GED with 11+ years of Analytics experience
+ 7+ years of progressive work experience, including:
+ 5+ years of experience in SAS, SQL, R, Python or related coding skills/tools.
+ 5+ years of work experience in an analytics role.
+ 5+ years of experience to include **:**
+ Analytical, organizational, and decision-making responsibilities
+ Demonstrated understanding of business systems and processes
+ Cross functional team and program leadership experience in a matrixed organization
+ Experience working in or with Governance, Regulatory, Audit, or Risk Management
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to modulate content based on audience.
+ Ability to work a flexible schedule
+ WIlling to travel up to 20%
Desired Characteristics:
+ Master's/MBA degree preferred in computer programming, mathematics, economics, finance, engineering, or other quantitative fields.
+ Subject Matter expert with data management and reporting tools.
+ Proficient in Tableau desktop and Tableau server.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to organize and express metrics and data concepts in concise, understandable business terms using a variety of mediums.
+ Proven analytical skills with strong attention to detail and quality control of work product.
+ Experience in financial services or banking industry with understanding of financial services regulatory environment.
+ Knowledge in SAS, Python, SQL programs to perform data pull/manipulation, data mining, and creation of risk reports.
+ Ability to quickly gain deep understanding of key systems, tools and processes used across Synchrony.
+ Manage projects related to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of risk oversight.
+ Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
+ Proven experience working in an ambiguous environment and creatively developing ideas and potential solutions.
+ Lead projects independently with little guidance while articulating key findings and communicate to Senior Leaders.
+ Strong PC proficiency (Microsoft Suite, including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
+ Excellent interpersonal skills - ability to foster relationships and create informal networks, both internal and external.
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is **135,000.00 - 230,000.00** USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:
+ You must be 18 years or older
+ You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
+ You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
+ You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
+ New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance expectations).
