    Where You Will Work

     

    Consolidated Aerospace Manufacturing (CAM)/EA Patten is the primary division of Stanley

     

    Black & Decker Aerospace, located in Manchester Connecticut. We are a leading innovator and strategic partner in the manufacturing of fasteners, fittings, tubing assemblies and engineered products for the aerospace, defense, and industrial markets. CAM is currently comprised of nine

     

    subsidiaries across the United States split among three segments. EAP has sites located in Manchester as well as Columbia Connecticut.

     

    The Job

     

    As the 2nd Shift CNC Mill Operator you will be working as an onsite

     

    employee. You’ll get to:

     

    *Setup and operate CNC milling machines to machine aerospace tubes, ducts, fabrications, and details. Fanuc controls a plus.

    • Develop lightly attended automated machining process

    • Prepare and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling,

     

    grinding, milling etc.

     

    • Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by

     

    reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, operation sheets etc.

     

    • Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can

     

    perform the correct function. Perform offset adjustments to the milling machines

     

    • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines

    • Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to

    specifications

    • Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts

    • Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any

    necessary adjustments to produce a better result

    • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with

     

    requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly using standard measuring instruments like calipers, height gages, micrometers

     

    • Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

    *work independently with minimal supervision

    Experience

    • 5 year machining experience

    • Familiarity with ¾ axis or similar CNC multi-axis machine

    • Lights-out or lightly attended machining

    • In-machine dimensional probing

    Requirements

    • Proven experience as CNC operator

    • Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision

    measurement tools

    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings

    • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and

    CAD/CAM

    • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills

    • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach

    • Good communication abilities

    • High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering

    or relevant discipline is a plus

    • Successfully completed apprenticeship is a plus
