Position Summary
The position is responsible for supporting the business through timely and accurate reporting and analysis. The position will assist the Accounting Manager as well as the corporate accounting and finance team with day to day responsibilities and projects. Additionally, the position will support the month-end, quarter end and year end close processes by creating journal entries and preparing reconciliations.
Position Responsibilities
+ Execute Finance projects as assigned.
+ Assist with general ledger of accounts and financial reporting system maintenance (analyze and reconcile accounts in a timely manner; prepare adjusting journal entries; prepare and maintain financial data for posting to the general ledger to reflect accurate accounting and distribution of revenue and expenses to the appropriate periods).
+ Assist with the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and cost center statements.
+ Perform professional accounting duties related to cash management, bank compliance, and account reconciliation.
+ Respond to inquiries relating to areas of responsibility; interface with other departments to provide accurate and current data regarding financial transactions; interpret, apply and explain applicable policies and procedures.
+ Support management in the preparation and review of internal budgeted and forecasted financial statements.
+ Assist in the preparation of documents required for the externally reviewed financial statements, tax returns, insurance renewals and audits.
+ Participate in payroll processing and reporting.
Knowledge and Experience
+ 2 to 3 years’ experience in a related corporate accounting role
+ Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA or other comparable ERP systems
+ Ability to thrive in a dynamic and growing business
+ In-depth emotional intelligence: behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence and the ability to work on a highly collaborative team
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ PC Computer Proficiency: Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint etc.
+ Ability to multitask and prioritize
+ Prior tax experience is preferred
+ Prior experience working with 3rd party reporting software preferred
Education and Certification
+ Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree.
