PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

The AWS Cloud Engineer II will help to deploy, manage, fix, and reinvent the tools, services, and components that the network engineers rely on to automate our network and keep it operational. This position will work with internal customers including network engineering colleagues, and through close collaboration, support, and exchange of ideas, share a common goal to serve our customers and grow through learning and innovation. This role exists to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides technical support for the AWS platform to improve capabilities and ensures optimal operability of ICW AWS infrastructure.

+ Collaborates with the rest of the platform team in the documenting of best practices, guardrails and standards for use of the AWS platform.

+ Partners with Project/Development teams in the creation, refinement and review of functional and non-functional requirements and specifications.

+ Collaborates with DevSecOps to develop deployment scripts and provide detailed documentation for deploying and supporting software (CI/CD).

+ Collaborates with IT staff and the business during technical meetings, regular code reviews, and technical planning meetings.

+ Supports platform level network changes, automation, and building AWS infrastructure.

Executes system design to produce a robust solution within time and cost requirements.

+ Facilitates the delivery of artifacts that meet business specifications.

+ Supports the application teams and/or DevSecOps teams in the development of AWS CDK and CloudFormation scripts.

+ Connects with IT staff and reviews documentation to ensure timely delivery and accuracy.

+ Identifies and advocates for areas of improvement within the IT organization.

Acts as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to multiple internal customers collaborating on information systems projects.

+ Implements continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

+ Recommends process and architecture improvements to the ICW Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) environment.

+ Modifies, implements, and maintains existing applications to established standards, specifications, and approved changes.

+ Supports application and DevSecOps engineers by demonstrating subject matter expertise on AWS services and use cases.

SUPERVISORY RESPONISBILITIES

This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

+ Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred with a major in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

+ Minimum 3 years of experience working in an Engineering, Network, or DevSecOps role and minimum 1 to 2 years of experience with AWS required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 

AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification, AWS Certified Developer Associate Certification or AWS Solution Architect Associate Certification preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

+ Technical background with experience in operating systems, networking, and application performance management.

+ Experience with creating reusable designs for AWS/Cloud applications and networks.

+ Proficient in at least two programming languages including Python, Java, C#.

+ Experience with AWS Services including Lambda, EC2, ECS, S3, CDK, CloudFormation, EventBridge, Secrets Manager, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Step Functions, CloudTrail and CloudWatch.

+ Experience in working with cloud management and monitoring tools.

+ Experience with enterprise monitoring tools. Experience in supporting highly available applications.

+ Ability to think critically and create solutions for unique scenarios.

+ Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will sit, stand, walk, and bend during working hours. Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Required to lift and carry relatively light materials. Requires normal or corrected vision and hearing corrected to a normal range. Ability to work additional hours, as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

This position operates in an office environment and requires the frequent use of computer, telephone, copier, and other standard office equipment.

The current range for this position is

$95,378.98 - $160,850.17

This range is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. If hired at ICW Group, your final base salary compensation will be determined by factors unique to each candidate, including experience, education and the location of the role and considers employees performing substantially similar work.
