    Job Title: Human Resources AssistantJob Description

     

    The HR Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of administrative tasks for the HR office, including providing training and support to other departments.

    Responsibilities

    + Answer general employee questions within the scope of job responsibilities.

    + Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.

    + Organize and maintain LOA, FMLA, WC, and STD files.

    + Assist the HR Team in organizing and processing incoming Human Resources and personnel documentation.

    + Help with the creation and updating of HR forms.

    + Assist in the enrollment of benefits for new hires and during annual open enrollment.

    + Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of Human Resources files and records.

    + Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.

    + Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefit enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, training sessions, and other celebrations.

    + Support the HR Team with various research projects and special projects.

    + Assist with reception duties, including registering visitors, issuing visitor passes when required, and operating the telephone console to receive, collect, and distribute incoming calls and messages.

    + Perform various clerical and administrative duties for management personnel to support organizational goals.

    + Maintain I-9 forms and track expired documents.

    + Accurately file documents in personnel files on a weekly basis.

    + Answer frequent questions from applicants.

    + Assist with the preparation and conducting of new hire orientation presentations.

    + Attend outside educational seminars and networking events related to the human resources field, benefits, and safety.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

    + 2+ years of HR-related functions experience (admin, assistant, specialist, etc.) or a Bachelor's Degree in HR with at least an internship.

    + High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.

    + Detail-oriented with strong data entry skills.

    + Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

    + Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.

    Work Environment

    The role is based in the office area of a manufacturing facility. The work schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm, with a business casual dress code where jeans are permitted on Fridays. The position offers a yearly allowance for safety shoes, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided when needed.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
