    SUMMARY

    The administrative assistant is an integral part of the outpatient clinic team as the primary point of contact for patient scheduling and services and operational management of the clinic.

     

    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

    + Functions as the initial point of contact for patients both on the phone and in office.

    + Appropriately triage calls, schedule appointments and provide information about the program’s services.

    + Coordinate patient payment methods with our benefits department and patient benefit providers.

    + Assist the program staff in managing compliance with regulatory operational requirements.

    + Administrative assistant coordinates the completion of weekly billing requirements with program staff and the billing department for claims generation.

    Qualifications

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

    + Experience in customer service/receptionist positions in an office setting required

    + Prior experience working with Chemical Dependency patients and/or experience working in an healthcare outpatient clinic setting preferred.

    + Experience working in and adhering to OASAS licensed 822 program regulations is a plus.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION:

    + High School Diploma required

    + College degree or coursework in business administration or related field preferred

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    + This job operates in an indoor office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.
