    Job Title: Assembly Technician

     

    Division: Blackstone NEY Ultrasonics

    Reports To: BNU Manufacturing Manager

     

    Exemption Classification: Hourly, non-exempt

     

    Summary: The Assembler is responsible for assembling component parts to company specifications and customer expectations consistent with BNU’s quality and productivity standards.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM DUTIES

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Performs mechanical assembly of intricate components and systems according to engineering specifications and blueprints.

    • Interpret and work with electrical schematics to integrate wiring and other electrical elements into mechanical assemblies.

    • Conduct functional testing of assembled systems to ensure operational integrity and compliance with design standards.

    • Inspects all parts for proper assembly and cosmetic defects. Tags any non-conforming parts with re-work labels.

    • Maintain and ensure proper use of assembly tools and equipment.

    • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; notifying supervisor.

    • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.

    • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.

    • Other functions as directed.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

     

    Qualifications: 1-2 years of assembly experience in a manufacturing setting preferred. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and electrical schematics.

     

    Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma, and/or Equivalent.

     

    Language Skills: Communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments and supervision as to work in progress, problems and/or completion.

     

    Mathematical Skills: Be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide basic numbers.

     

    Reasoning Ability: Be able to identify work process problems and possible solutions.

     

    Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: None

     

    Physical Demands: Stand for prolonged periods of time on concrete floor. Will be required to kneel, squat, stoop, recline, climb, crawl, and/or bend on an as needed basis. Must be able to adjust visual focus. Must be able to lift to 50 lbs. unassisted, over 50 lbs. with assistance of a lifting device.

     

    Work Environment: Traditional shop atmosphere. Subject to temperature variance based on season. Loud noise level. May be exposed to various fumes or smells based on job.
