What You’ll Be Doing
You will be part of the Functional Family Therapy – Gang program, providing support and collaborating with staff and families. You will help enrich lives of gang-involved or at-risk youth through mentorship, preventative efforts, and advocacy. Your role will also include planning community events for Child & Family relevant to our population and collaborating with community stakeholders to increase resources available to our clients. Your primary role will be to utilize lived experience to advocate for youth needs within juvenile justice, healthcare, school and community systems.
Your Main Priorities
While additional responsibilities are likely to arise on the job, you will primarily:
• Provide community support by planning and attending community events.
• Collaborate and engage with community partners to increase presence in the community.
• Support in-between session learning by practicing skills with client’s family.
• Collaborate with Clinicians to support youth and family’s engagement daily
• Attend intake and sessions as needed for additional support to staff.
• Act as a mentor/coach in the program for life skills and relationship building (e.g. resume building, job interview practice, enrolling in programming).
• Provide transportation to youth as needed for school, programming, events, interviews, etc.
• Complete contact notes and upload/transfer documentation to appropriate Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
• Upload assessments and data to appropriate systems (i.e., YOQ, YOQ-SR, OQ).
Who You Are
Requirements, Skills & Abilities:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CHW certification preferred.
• Minimum 1 year’s work or lived experience related to the position required.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
• Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
• Basic computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
• Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
• Collaboration and teamwork.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance and car registration.
• Must authorize Child & Family to complete a motor vehicle records check.
• The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.
Physical Requirements
Direct Service Staff (Travel as part of position):
This position requires time sitting, standing, walking, driving, carrying and lifting up to 25lbs. This role also requires operating desktop, laptop and/or cell phone, and communicating with colleagues.
Travel Requirements
Site location: Providence
Statewide travel required.
