The mission of Success in Education is to provide a pathway to college or careers. We do this through literacy, technology and mentoring programs, and exposure to scholarships, internships, and careers.
Programs and Purposes:
+ The purpose of Ken Garff Esports is to enhance and enrich scholastic experiences through and beyond gaming.
+ The purpose of Keys to Success is to motivate students to unlock their future by connecting them to scholarships, internships, and careers.
+ The purpose of Road to Success is to improve literacy skills of K-5 grade students through incentivized daily reading.
+ The purpose of Women Who Succeed is to provide opportunities for girls and young women to grow confidence and leadership skills.
Position Summary:
The Success in Education Program Manager is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of Success in Education’s programming throughout Utah. Each manager will be assigned a specific geographic area, where they will focus on elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in their region; this will include building strategic relationships with community partners from their region and throughout the state of Utah. In addition to overseeing Success in Education’s programming within a specific geographic region, a Program Manager will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one of the Success in Education programs.
Managers will work with other program managers and team members. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring there is an emphasis on creating opportunity for underrepresented populations, including: low-income, minority, and female students. This role is responsible for implementing strategies that will ensure student success and a high completion rate.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Oversee the Southern Utah region that implements Road to Success, Keys to Success, Ken Garff Esports and Women Who Succeed.
+ Closely coordinate with school principals and counselors to ensure Keys to Success is implemented throughout the region.
+ Ensure Key Contacts are in place in each high school to garner support and enthusiasm for Keys to Success.
+ Establish and foster relationships with districts’ Career and Technical Education Educators to ensure Success in Education programming is a priority for each district.
+ Develop and implement an engagement plan with counselors to connect with high school students through in-person and virtual assemblies, Lunch and Learns, and other special events to engage with the Keys to Success app.
+ Develop and implement an engagement plan through the College and Career Awareness courses in middle schools in your area to have the Keys to Success app downloaded or website account created.
+ Ensure principals and counselors are aware of the mentee opportunity for Women Who Succeed on the Keys to Success app.
+ Act as a liaison for Ken Garff Esports Club Advisors in your area to the Ken Garff Esports Subject Matter Expert and Director of Technology Education.
+ Distribute prizes and act as a support to Ken Garff Esport Club Advisors and students.
+ Promote mentorship, internship, and scholarship opportunities through Women Who Succeed through assigned region.
+ Ensure equity and access are of high priority for student enrollment by targeting low-income schools, rural schools, and minority students
+ Track Key Performance Indicators for assigned geographic area.
+ Provide weekly reports to leadership as to progress and challenges
+ Provide content for social media to Marketing Coordinator to highlight success in geographic areas and in subject matter expertise.
+ Train team members and act as a Subject Matter Expert with identified specialty.
+ Communicate regularly and integrate initiatives as appropriate with other team members.
Technology Education – Subject Matter Expert
+ Remain current on research in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Esports, especially in relation to diverse and underserved populations.
+ Support adoption and implementation of new and existing curriculums, including web development, software development, cybersecurity, game development, artificial intelligence, etc.
+ Curate content to be utilized in Ken Garff Esports through and beyond gaming opportunities.
+ In partnership with the Technology Education team, plan and execute events and opportunities throughout the state and for Ken Garff Esports clubs.
+ In conjunction with the Technology Education and Marketing teams, develop annual marketing plan with digital and printed materials. Help marketing team determine and provide relevant content for social media platforms.
+ Ensure the Ken Garff Esports website is accurate, robust, intriguing, and culturally sensitive.
+ Work with school districts and teachers to ensure participating campuses are prepared for summer program, including technical requirements (equipment, ports required, student accounts, etc.), district and facilitator expectations, mentor expectations, etc.
+ Plan and lead program orientations, training and information sessions for parents, teachers, administrators, and students throughout the school year.
+ Work closely with the technology education team and Director of Technology Education to ensure events, goals and initiatives support, compliment, and align with one another.
+ Organize and oversee through and beyond gaming opportunities at Ken Garff Esports events throughout the school year and summer student opportunities, including working with university mentors, peer mentors, students, teachers, and volunteers. Scholastic opportunities may include coding, cybersecurity, or various other STEAM-related topics.
+ Coordinate coding hackathons and cybersecurity competitions to provide students with hands-on experience and foster their problem-solving abilities. Partner with industry experts to help run the events and develop challenging scenarios to evaluate participants' technical proficiency.
+ Manage resources, including software licenses, coding tools, and cybersecurity platforms, to support coding and cybersecurity education initiatives.
+ Organize and oversee through and beyond gaming programs with existing programs and partners. This could include out-of-state, and even out-of-country initiatives.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree
+ Confident in front of large crowds as well as one-on-one interactions
+ Ability to collect, process, and present measured results
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
+ Organized, self-starter, team player
+ Has integrity and values transparency in the workplace
+ Graphic design, website, and social media experience are a plus
Other Work Conditions:
+ This position requires regular travel, primarily local and during business hours, although some occasional out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
+ This is a full-time, exempt position. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.
