    THE POSITION

The Department of Corrections at the State Correctional Institution Muncy is seeking a motivated, innovative, and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Information Technology Generalist 1. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a crucial resource for supporting our facility’s IT needs.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this position, you will be responsible for troubleshooting automation issues, installing and maintaining personal and mainframe computer systems, and network-related equipment and software. You will provide technical support to users, serve as a liaison, aid in developing software applications for institutional use, and assist with managing automation equipment and supplies. Additionally, you will stay updated on microcomputer and mainframe hardware, software, applications, and telecommunications used across the supported agencies through ongoing on-the-job training. You will also regularly review technical manuals, attend seminars, conferences, and training sessions to keep up with the latest information services, products, and IT advancements.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

    + Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or

    + Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services;or

    + One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Other Requirements:

    + Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
