THE POSITION

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is on the lookout for a Forest Maintenance Supervisor who is dedicated to overseeing the operation, upkeep, and repair of equipment, as well as the construction of forest roads and facilities. In this role, you will cultivate a spirit of teamwork and collaboration among your team members, motivating them to support our mission to conserve and sustain Pennsylvania’s natural resources for present and future generations’ use and enjoyment. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Your primary responsibilities will include developing a seasonal maintenance plan for roads, trails, and deer exclosures, with the flexibility to adjust as conditions change. It is essential to keep detailed records of progress and completion to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of future maintenance efforts. Additionally, best management practices should be implemented as necessary for the upkeep of roads and trails. Your organizational skills will be essential as you efficiently manage the utilization of all equipment and personnel assigned to tasks within the Loyalsock State Forest District.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday - Thursday, 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Occasional overtime and travel as needed
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience which includes one year in the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment ;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of an active motor vehicle license.
+ This position requires possession of a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License.
