    As a Software Engineer II - Automation at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial and Investment Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.

    Job responsibilities

    + Execute manual and automated tests to verify that the software functions as expected. This includes functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and other types of testing to ensure comprehensive coverage.

    + Identify, document, and report defects or issues found during testing. Work closely with developers to ensure that defects are understood, prioritized, and resolved in a timely manner.

    + Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

    + Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide feedback, and ensure that quality is integrated into the development process from the start.

    + Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve the value realized by automation

    + Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity

    + Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development

    + Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems

    + Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience

    + Knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Selenium) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps) to integrate automated testing into the software development lifecycle.

    + Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

    + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in the testing process, as well as to optimize test scripts and frameworks for better performance and coverage

    + Demonstrable ability to code in one or more programming languages

    + In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems

    + Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

    + Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle

    + Experience to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security

    + Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

    + Automation with Mobile Devices - Android and iOS

    + AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner

    + Quality Assurance Experience within the financial service industry.
