About Grand Junction Regional Center:
Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC) exists to provide person-centered quality healthcare, activities of daily living, and an active learning atmosphere in a safe and healthy environment for intellectually and developmentally disabled (IDD) individuals and individuals who may have behavioral health needs in addition to IDD. This work unit provides 24-hour treatment services that comply with State and Federal regulations.
About the Work Unit:
This work unit exists to direct and coordinate services and supports within the Intermediate Care Facility for intellectual and developmental disabilities (ICF-IDD) program to assure individuals goals promote independence to the fullest potential are developed and achieved and is responsible for ensuring staff implement the Individual Program Plan in accordance with State and Federal regulations.

Description of Job
This Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) plans, develops, and coordinates comprehensive services provided to individuals with intellectual disabilities and safeguards and advocates for their rights, safety, and quality of life. This position also includes coordinating administrative functions and services for the residents, including ensuring the implementation and documentation of residential programs is completed. This QIDP also directly supervises 3-4 staff and is a second level supervisor over 20-35 direct care staff. This position also works in coverage on the homes as needed.
Additionally, as a QIDP you can expect to:
+ Exercise appointing authority responsibilities with first and second level supervision over Residential staff, including approximately 30 employees
+ Directly supervise Health Care Tech IV positions including oversight of hiring, performance planning, performance evaluation, corrective, and disciplinary action, up to and including termination
+ Directs, oversees, and monitors delivery of comprehensive services to individuals by facilitating or co-facilitating the Interdisciplinary (ID) Team (medical, programming, psychology, nursing, OT, PT, nursing, clinical behavioral specialists) process to develop an Individual Program Plan (IP) by reviewing the individual’s progress in reaching identified goals in the IP and by recommending ways to overcome barriers to reaching goals
+ Conduct routine monitoring, including conducting regular audits of each Individual’s program in Therapy
+ Ensure regulatory compliance of all agency departments in conjunction with: State Board of Nursing Practice Acts; Intermediate Care Facilities for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IDD) and Home and Community Based Services (HCBS); Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division (HFEMSD) of
Department of Public Health (DPH); Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS); CDHS Policies and Procedures; and other state and federal mandates
+ Assure the effectiveness of the Interdisciplinary Team (medical, programming, psychology, nursing, OT, PT, nursing, clinical behavioral specialists) process by identifying, coordinating, and providing leadership, guidance and training to team members (professional and para-professional) when appropriate in various subject matters related to ICF-IDD & Waiver-HCBS
+ This position may be required to work other locations and/or shifts as needed to address agency resource needs.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an academic discipline associated with the study of human behavior, human skill development or education, humans and their cultural behavior, or any other services related to basic human care needs or the human condition.
AND
Four (4) years of professional experience that must include experience with IDD and dually diagnosed individuals and progressive management
Substitutions
Additional education will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Qualifications:
+ Due to federal requirements for ICF-IID positions, work experience may not be substituted for the bachelors degree.
+ Must currently possess, or be able to possess within six months of employment, QMAP training or LPT licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Preferred candidate will have one (1) year of supervisory experience
+ Knowledge of the Performance Management techniques
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, prioritize and organize work, and to interpret rules and regulations
+ Advanced skills in using Google Suite for business and general computer use
+ Proficiency with electronic health records
Conditions of Employment:
+ Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. Driver's License
+ Full Background Check Required - CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons): CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers
+ Serves as Duty Officer to consult with staff after hours. Not eligible for pay differentials per DPA pay plan.
+ Position must travel to remote work sites and must utilize state vehicles, if available. If not, must utilize personal vehicle and submit for mileage reimbursement.
+ Former employees of the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) who were disciplinary terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on your application and may not be eligible for employment at CDHS.
+ TB test required; requires Influenza and COVID vaccine as required by facility
+ Must be annually certified for the skilled implementation of Safety Care
