Overview
THE ROLE:
The Sr. Analyst, Member Tax will be part of the Indirect tax team responsible for monthly, quarterly, and annual activities including general ledger account reconciliations, withholding tax payment calculations, IRS TIN matching, IRS B-Notices and processing United States, Puerto Rico and Canada Member tax levies. The position is a high-profile Distributor facing position for member taxes, supporting member services daily regarding tax withholding and reporting issues as well having direct communication with distributors by telephone, email, and fax. The Sr. Tax Analyst will assist with the preparation and filing of IRS Forms 1099, 1042, 592, T4ANR, 480 PR, and 945 for Herbalife International of America, Inc. and its United States corporate affiliates, including Herbalife Manufacturing, Herbalife Family Foundation and Herbalife Ltd., in compliance with United States Federal and State, Puerto Rico, and Canada year-ending reporting requirements for payments to Herbalife Members and Accounts Payable vendors. Lastly, this position provides assistant with year-end reporting requirements of the non-US corporate Herbalife entities, the various international Finance Managers and on special projects.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Manage and support member services daily regarding tax withholding and reporting issues as well having direct communication with distributors by telephone, email, and fax.
• Responsible to calculate monthly state payments and filing of state returns for backup withholding quarterly
• Responsible for IRS Forms W-9, W-8BEN and other documents or correspondence from members regarding United States Social Security numbers and/or residency issues impacting tax withholding
• Responsible for the month-end closing process including preparation of account reconciliations and withholding tax calculations
• Responsible for determining proper tax withholding on speaker fees globally
• Responsible for processing tax levies, IRS B-Notices, and IRS TIN matching
• Advise AP and vendors on tax questions
• Assist with the review of year end reports of U.S. entity’s payments made on a global basis to distributors to determine current year reporting and post adjustments as needed
• Assist with the preparation and filing (IRS Forms 1099, 1042, 592, T4ANR, 480 PR, and 945) with government entities and the form recipients to ensure timely and accurate filing
• Assist with implementation of changes in tax laws, process improvements, and other ad hoc projects
• Develop, maintain, and enforce the corporate records retention schedule and ensure proper archiving, production, storage, and destruction of records all in accordance with the retention schedule and applicable policies for Tax Department
• Inputting/uploading data in year-end tax information reporting software, Sovos Taxport
• Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Direct experience with Sovos Taxport software, Alteryx, Power BI, Oracle ERP, and/or other ERP system
• Direct knowledge of 1099 filing and other tax information reporting
• 4+ years of experience in Accounting/Finance/Tax

Experience:
• 5-7 years’ experience in Accounting/Finance/Tax
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance or 4 additional years of work-related experience
