The **Manager, Sales** supports the North America Sales Director in driving revenue targets for Disney Publishing Group, a client of Penguin Random House. This role oversees the distributor relationship for select sales channels, including special sales, book fairs, international exports, and Canada. The Manager is responsible for providing optimal title sell-in information from marketing, PR, and sales to the selling teams and managing subrights approvals.
This is a full-time, onsite position based out of our New York office.
Responsibilities/You Will:
+ Support the Sales Director with overarching sales strategy for Hyperion Avenue, National Geographic Adult, and Disney Hyperion imprints.
+ Maximize sales revenue in designated channels.
+ Track revenue and estimates against targeted goals.
+ Establish and sustain strong relationships with sales teams.
+ Develop innovative promotional strategies and explore new distribution channels at the title level.
+ Ensure margin requirements on promotional approvals.
+ Strive for efficiency in systems and communication flow.
+ Manage subrights relationships and oversee administrative support.
+ Collaborate with marketing and publicity for channel-specific initiatives.
+ 5-10% domestic and international travel is possible but not guaranteed.
Basic Qualifications/You Have:
+ 5-8 years of experience in publishing or a related field.
+ Experience in managing subrights and export sales.
+ Proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Keynote, including the ability to edit and present.
+ Comfortable working and navigating in excel.
+ Strong relationship-building skills.
+ Business acumen related to revenue and promotional margin analysis.
+ Excellent project management and prioritization skills.
+ Collaborative and optimistic work style.
+ Ability to navigate a matrixed organization.
Education:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

The hiring range for this position in New York is $108,500.00 to $145,400.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
