    Legends/ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opportunity for an Events Intern at the Century Center South Bend. The Events Intern will learn how to plan, detail, and coordinate private and corporate events. Events include Corporate, Social and/or specific markets as assigned.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

     

    include the following with oversight from Event Manager. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Meets with client’s groups to plan and organize assigned meetings and/or events.

    + Guide clients in preparation of events by interpreting and explaining contract provisions, policies, and procedures.

    + Keeps clients informed as to status of deadlines schedules, including but not limited to floor plan submissions, meeting room set-ups to provide equipment or services needed.

    + Maintains close contact with clients and facility staff to ensure successful events.

    + Follow-up on all client’s requests, concerns, and problems.

    + Assist with the preparation of the client’s final billing.

    + Supervise staff and oversee all aspects of facility operations related to events.

    + Follow SOP guidelines in all aspects of your position, this includes but is not limited to, generate Event Resume.

    + Other projects as assigned by Event Manager.

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience

     

    + Junior or Senior in college majoring in Events Planning.

    + Understanding of basic of event requirements.

    + Proficiency in planning & organization.

     

    Skills and Abilities

     

    + Strong customer service orientation.

    + Excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills.

    + Strong written & verbal communication skills.

     

    Computer Skills

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a working knowledge of event booking and scheduling software, spreadsheet software and word processing software and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

     

    Other

     

    Project: Events Intern will be assigned an event to manage on their own.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to handle contracts, other office correspondence, etc.
