About the RoleThis hybrid role is key to our transition to a fully integrated newsroom. You'll produce for both digital and broadcast platforms, while helping lead our digital-first strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Develop and execute digital content strategies for web, mobile and social platforms
+ Champion a multi-platform newsroom model through leadership and example
+ Drive audience engagement by managing and growing our social media presence
+ Pitch original, on-brand stories in daily editorial meetings
+ Shoot, write, edit and produce compelling content for broadcast and digital use
+ Write clean, accurate web copy using AP style
+ Build digital campaigns that promote station projects and special coverage
+ Collaborate with anchors, producers and reporters to shape daily news coverage
+ Balance breaking news with enterprise storytelling
+ Monitor and post timely updates and video content to digital channels
+ Represent the station positively in online viewer interactions
+ Stay calm under pressure and adjust quickly to breaking news scenarios
Qualifications & Skills:
+ Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field (or equivalent experience)
+ Strong writing and editing skills with fluency in AP style
+ Experience with web CMS, social media management and digital publishing
+ Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, basic HTML and video editing preferred
+ Prior experience in a newsroom or fast-paced content environment
+ Organized, collaborative and comfortable working across departments
+ Able to work weekends and holidays as needed
