    We are currently seeking a passionate individual for the position of a Full Time Residential Counselor in our Bay Shore Community Residence Program. In this crucial role, assist individuals in developing independent living skills to increase their self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and self-worth. You provide hands-on training and assist with the activities of daily living as well as provide counseling, behavioral intervention, and crisis management for adults living with severe mental illness.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Support residents with daily living activities and promote independent life skills.

    + Participate in planning, implementing, and monitoring individual service plans.

    + Provide behavioral support, counseling, and crisis intervention as needed.

    + Accompany residents on recreational outings, appointments, and travel training exercises.

    + Maintain accurate daily documentation of resident progress and activities.

    + Monitor medication administration and ensure compliance with health protocols.

    + Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive living environment.

    + Coordinate with external service providers to support resident care and discharge planning.

    + Advocate for residents' benefits and access to community resources.

    + Notify the Senior Residential Counselor or Supervisor of any medical/psychiatric emergency.

    + Oversee residence operations in the absence of the Senior Residential Counselor.

    + Responsible for other related activities

    POSITION RELATIONSHIPS

    Reports to: Community Residence Supervisor

     

    Supervises: None

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS

    + High School Diploma or equivalent with related experience, required

    + Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field, preferred

    + Related experience working with people living with mental illness or other disabilities that require assistance in day to day living highly preferred

    + Physical Requirements: Sits, stands, stoops, squats, walks, and moves intermittently during work hours, may push or pull 10-15 pounds daily, may push or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.

    + A valid NYS Driver's License in good standing

     

    SCHEDULE: Sunday 11am - 9pm, Monday 11am - 9pm, Tuesday 12pm - 10pm, Wednesday 9am - 6:30pm

     

    PAY RATE: $19.50 per hour

     

    + Full Benefits Package including Medical, Company-Paid Dental and Vision Single Coverage. Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for medical plan.
