    The Department of Psychology has an outstanding opportunity for a full-time Research Study Coordinator. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Study Coordinator will coordinate research activities for multi-site and multi-year research studies on everyday stressors, resilience, and substance use.

    Position Details/Description

    The Acculturation, Diversity, and Psychopathology Team (https://sites.uw.edu/adapt206/) (ADAPT; Principal Investigator: Priscilla Lui (https://psych.uw.edu/people/9592/priscilla-lui) ) is a vibrant and diverse lab focused on health disparities/mental health and addictive behaviors in underrepresented minority and underserved populations. Research topics include sociocultural risks and resilience factors of young adult substance use and mental health, measurement development and psychometric evaluation, and meta-science. In addition to primary responsibilities, there may be opportunities to conduct mentored research, submit presentations to conferences, and assist in preparing manuscripts for publication. This position is ideal for graduates interested in pursuing an advanced degree in psychology or related fields.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Recruit, screen, and interview potential participants for research

    + Organize events for participant recruitment and engagement

    + Schedule and coordinate study appointments for research participants

    + Use statistical and database management programs to track participants and prepare summary narrative reports, tables, charts, and other illustrations

    + Monitor data quality, including ensuring adherence to study protocols

    + Launch, maintain, and monitor Web-based surveys (i.e., REDCap, Qualtrics)

    + Assist in running research participants through the study protocol (e.g., providing informed consent, setting up digital equipment for virtual reality simulations and Web-based surveys, completing brief semi-structured interviews)

    + Assist in the preparation and management of human subjects applications, consent forms, and progress reports for institutional review board and study sponsors

    + Create and manage documentation for study procedures

    + Purchase and order supplies for the study, dispense participant compensation, and file expense reimbursements

    + Assist in training and direct the work of undergraduate student research assistants

    + Conduct literature reviews to assist with manuscript preparation and report writing

    + Perform data visualization and statistical analyses using statistical packages such as SPSS, Mplus, R

    + Occasional evening and weekend availability for participant engagement and data collection

    + Perform related duties as required **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

    + Two years of college level course work in a relevant academic area AND two years of experience as a Research Study Assistant OR equivalent education/experience **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**

    + Experience working in human subjects research lab **DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS**

    + Experience working with Black/African American populations and communities of color

    + Experience with scientific research on sensitive topics such as substance use and racism

    + Experience coordinating a research project and managing scientific data collection

    + Experience with recruitment and data collection in samples of young adults

    + Experience with data management and statistical software such as REDCap, Qualtrics, SPSS, Mplus, and R

    + Experience leading volunteer research assistants

    + Excellent organizational, writing, and verbal communication skills

    + Self-motivated, takes initiative, and ability to work independently

    + Familiarity with virtual reality technologies

    + Experience with American Psychological Association publication style
