Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, Position Description Number D2240P01 and is part of the PA 171st Air Refueling Wing, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. Responsibilities As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, you will perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on one or more multi-complex electronic integrated systems. Review and analyze maintenance data; determines if criteria are sufficient to provide adequate test, troubleshooting and repair procedures; devises and recommends tests, procedural changes, or data corrections. Troubleshoot operational malfunctions and analyzes system performance utilizing aircrew debrief data, Technical Orders, schematic and wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, data analysis, common and system-specific test equipment and built in system tests. Recommend methods to improve equipment performance, technical data, and maintenance procedures by reporting hardware and software malfunctions, initiates material deficiency reports both on equipment and in technical data, and assists in design changes as necessary. May upload and download chaff/flare dispensers. This hazardous task may involve the inspection, storage and handling of explosive devices; to include flares, chaff, impulse cartridges and similar items. May be required to perform additional duties such as structural fire-fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, serve as a security guard, remove snow, load and handle munitions, launch/recover and service aircraft, operate heavy equipment, maintain facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with natural disasters or civil emergencies. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC 1: NG Employees at the 171st Air Refueling Wing AOC 2: NG Employees of the 171st Air Refueling Wing (This includes 258th ATCS, 146 Weather Flight, 146 ARS, and 147 ARS) AOC 3: All Service Members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (to include Temporary Technicians) AOC 4: All service members of the Pennsylvania National Guard (This includes Traditional Airmen, Temporary Technicians and AGR Personnel) AOC 5: Individuals who are currently serving in another branch of service who are willing to become members of the PANG TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must indicate at least 12 months of specialized experiences working as an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic, WG-2610-12, and must possess the craftsman level of knowledge and skills to inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify software controlled automated and manually controlled test stations, electronic circuit maintenance pods, peripherals, support equipment and associated subsystems. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
