Purpose:
As an Actuary at Athene, oversee the compilation, review, and analysis of the Cost-of-Funds (CoF) Forecast for the Actuarial Department, encompassing both new business and in-force portfolios, and addressing both STAT and GAAP perspectives. Collaborate with leadership across all facets of the valuation process to ensure efficient, consistent, and well-controlled forecast reporting, while delivering valuable insights to management.
Accountabilities:
+ Ensure the delivery of timely and accurate CoF Forecast results by:
+ Collaborating with New Business, STAT, and GAAP reporting teams to build CoF Forecast results via indirect relationships
+ Applying a continuous improvement mindset to enhance processes.
+ Collaborating to standardize and automate the CoF Forecast process.
+ Collaborating to research, manage, and improve all aspects of the CoF forecast.
+ Provide Athene management with clear, data-driven insights by:
+ Explaining quarter-over-quarter changes and analyzing deviations from expected results.
+ Engage with key stakeholders in the close process to create a holistic view of results and uncover valuable insights.
Qualifications and Experience:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, MIS, Business Analytics or experience commensurate of a degree in these fields.
+ ASA required or FSA preferred.
+ 5+ years of life/annuity industry required.
+ 2+ years of GAAP / STAT reporting preferred.
+ Proven indirect leadership experience.
+ Knowledge of life/annuity products, financial markets, and actuarial finance preferred.
+ Experience in Python, SAS, SQL or another programming language is required.
+ Experience in MS Office (Excel, VBA, Outlook, Word etc.)
+ Strong organizational, communication skills and the ability to develop working relationships beyond direct lines of reports.
