Summary:
+ Responsible for security during assigned shift including scheduling of officers and maintaining appropriate records. Properly supervises and manages all Security Officers during their tour of duty.
Responsibilities:
+ Schedules duty assignments for shift security guard force and periodically checks with assigned personnel to ensure that assigned duties are properly carried out and that officers are on postInspects uniforms, equipment and personal appearance of assigned personnelConducts random patrols of hospital premises for general security, safety and fire protection purposesDirects/conducts preliminary investigations of alleged criminal acts on hospital premisesDirects removal or apprehension of unauthorized or suspicious persons on hospital premisesPrepares department operations reports as requiredOversees the operations training for newly hired shift security officersCompletes time cards for assigned shiftInteracts will all PaH employees, staff, visitors and patients in a cordial, helpful and professional mannerEnsures that all Security generated paperwork is placed in computer in a timely mannerPrepares weekly Security Officer schedulesAnswers calls for service in and around the hospitalConducts periodic Fire Drills in and around the hospitalCompletes payroll for SecurityUses effective interpersonal skills in all interactionsPerforms duties and exhibits behaviors consistent with care philosophy of Pennsylvania Hospital
Credentials:
+ PA Act - Trng to Cry Lthl Wpns (Required)
+ Pennsylvania Act 235 certification required upon completion of six months of employment required.
+ Driver's License (Required)
+ Driver’s License - current, active, unrestricted license required.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ Education Specialization:Equivalent Experience:•And 4+ years Extensive experience in security guard force operations, preferably in health care setting•1+ years Supervisory experience
