This is a system wide position. Primary responsibilities will be in the Carthage/Watertown area. Interested candidates will be required to travel to Ogdensburg to assist as needed. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.

The Staff Educator provides staff development expertise as an educator, consultant, facilitator, change agent, leader and researcher. This will be done through the educational activities with staff aimed at role competence, clinical certification upkeep, and proficiency under the supervision and guidance of the Staff Development Director. The ideal candidate will use knowledge and skills in education theory, application and program management to support staff development through new employee orientation, staff development, staff simulations, and continuing education for staff in accordance with regulatory agencies. Collaborates with the Student and Education Coordinator on the management of the online learning management system, (Healthstream), to include authoring, maintenance, tracking, reports, and course assignment requests. Will be required to become BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor certified and hold live classes as needed. Staff training relative to the organization's strategic plan, Performance Improvement and Accreditation Agencies. Create and update student and educational policies for the Healthcare system.. Work with Department managers and clinical coordinators to educate staff on evidenced based practices, new processes and in-services on new equipment. Assist in developing a graduate nurse residency program.

EDUCATION:

Required:

+ NYS Licensed RN

Preferred:

+ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or relevant education

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Required:

- ACLS/BLS/PALS Provider certifications or obtain within 90 days of hire

Preferred:

-ACLS/BLS/PALS Instructor certification

TRAINING and EXPERIENCE:

Required:

+ 3-5 years in a clinical care area with direct patient care experience or in a clinical educator role

+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills

+ Computer proficiency and knowledge of MS Office AND/OR Google Drive

+ Strong interpersonal skills

+ Demonstrated leadership qualities and skills

Preferred:

+ Preferred candidates have prior experience in a teaching capacity

+ Experience with Healthstream preferred
