Summary:
+ The role of the Security Training & Development Specialist at Pennsylvania Hospital is to conduct standardized departmental orientation training to new Security Officers to include patrol responsibilities, use of force, report writing, customer service, use of technology systems (video surveillance, access control, weapons detection, visitor management), and crisis response. The Specialist also conducts on the job post trainings as needed for all Officers and provides continuous training on security operations. The Specialist will conduct training classes that provide instruction on various Security topics and coordinate educational projects within the health system. The Specialist will provide documentation for compliance to Security leadership and compile reports. In addition, the Specialist will assume the duties of the Corporal as needed.
Responsibilities:
+ Assist in the development of education/training material and methods.
+ Makes recommendations on departmental performance improvement opportunities.
+ Assist with security-based assessments and provides recommendations.
+ Attend daily team activities/ trainings including in-services or drills.
+ Conducts security-based exercises with responsibility for analysis of results and resolution of any problems, reporting back to leadership.
+ Assist Management in development of new training materials and modification of existing training materials.
+ Conduct Train-The-Trainer sessions, also serve as trainer for all departmental needs.
+ Perform regular inspections on security systems
+ Enforce department policy and procedure and train Security Officers accordingly providing written reports for Security Supervisor in regard to any corrective actions or redirections needed.
+ Provide written reports and feedback to leadership on staff development in training.
+ Assist with department initiatives and special projects.
+ Serve as back up to Corporal Officer as needed
Credentials:
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support (Required)
+ ACT 235 Certification (Required)
+ Driver's License (Required)
+ Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (Required)
+ Certified Healthcare Security Supervisor (CHSS) within 1 year
Education or Equivalent Experience:
+ H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
+ 4+ years Prior experience as a security guard, police officer or military service
+ Bachelor of Arts or Science
+ Criminal Justice, Police Science, Instructional Design or related field4+ years Prior experience providing training or instruction to security and/or law enforcement personnel required.
