    Budget Title: Staff Assistant (SL-2)

     

    Salary: $50,000 - $55,000

     

    Since 1967, the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Binghamton University has provided comprehensive academic and financial support to students from low-income and historically underserved communities. EOP fosters student success through mentorship, skill-building programs, and high-impact learning experiences, ensuring students thrive on their path toward a Binghamton University degree.

     

    The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Binghamton University is seeking a highly organized and motivated Staff Assistant (SL2) to coordinate key EOP special events and programs. This role will support the department by managing logistics and operations of major initiatives, allowing EOP Counselors to focus on their primary responsibilities of academic and personal student support.

     

    + Plan, coordinate, and execute various EOP special events, including student academic engagement programs, orientation sessions, honor society induction, recognition ceremonies, summer program and EOP Homecoming events.

    + Oversee event logistics such as scheduling, venue coordination, participant communication, and vendor management.

    + Develop reports, track attendance, and assess program effectiveness for continuous improvement.

    + Collaborate with campus offices and student organizations to enhance programming and student involvement.

    + Serve as a liaison between EOP, external vendors, and campus departments to ensure program continuity and efficiency.

    + Create and maintain partnerships with community associations and organizations.

    The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate:

    + Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    + Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

    + Ability to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

    + Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

    + Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and event management software.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

    + At least 1 year of experience, which may include graduate or paraprofessional work

    + Availability to work outside of traditional business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

    + Valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience working with Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP) or similar student success initiatives

    + Minimum of two years of experience in program coordination, event planning, or student services
