Job Overview
Fairview Health Services has an immediate opening for a Supervisor - Operating Room Support at the UMMC West Bank hospital located in Minneapolis, MN.
This is a full time 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week) on the day/evening, 8 hour shifts. Tentative schedule 9AM-5PM shift or 10AM-6PM shift, occasionally 645AM shift start, based on clinic need. Call is also required for this opening.
Overview:
Responsible for managing day-to-day operations and delegated tasks in partnership with the OR Nurse Manager and Patient Care Supervisors for the Operating Room. Provides supervision and leadership to staff. Develops and maintains a climate of exceptional customer service with an engaged team. Responsible for promoting a professional work environment as well as the development and utilization of resources. Works cooperatively with administration, physicians, staff, and customers of the M Health Fairview system to provide services and consistently meet and exceed expectations of the people we serve. The Supervisor supports the manager in aspects of budgeting, performance management, and human resources matters, including recruitment and the administration of disciplinary measures on the non-nursing OR team members. At the direction of the Manager, implements and supports safety protocols and regulations, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, and meets all Joint Commission requirements. The Supervisor will model behaviors consistent with M Health Fairview’s mission, vision, and philosophy and effectively maintain the hospital's Standards of Care and Practice. Recommends and implements opportunities for improvements in customer service, cost reductions, and operational processes.

+ Supervises staff within perioperative services:
+ Interviews and selects qualified employees to fill vacancies.
+ Supports orientation of new employees to role, department and organization.
+ Provides a welcoming and supportive environment.
+ Establishes effective relationships with staff, which promotes and improves employee engagement.

+ Provides ongoing feedback and coaching.

+ Ensures staff comply with perioperative standards of practice, department policies, guidelines, and protocols
+ Supports staff development and learning opportunities to meet identified needs.
+ Provides timely, accurate, and fair performance reviews.
+ Understands and follows human resource policies and practices.
+ Partners with other accountable perioperative leader/s to assure clinical practice needs are addressed.

Qualifications
Required
Education
Associate’s Degree in healthcare field or equivalent
Experience
3 years surgical technologist or operating room support
Preferred
Education
Bachelors or Advanced degree in Healthcare management, Business or related field
Experience
5+ years surgical technologist and/or 3 years lead or supervisory healthcare experience
License/Certification/Registration
Certified Surgical Technologist
