    Job Summary:

    The CNC Programmer/Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to perform precision machining operations. The incumbent will utilize GibbsCAM or Mastercam software to create, validate, and optimize machining programs for various components and materials. Working closely with engineering and production teams, they ensure the efficient manufacturing of high-quality parts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + **Programming:**

    + Develop CNC programs using GibbsCAM or Mastercam for milling operations.

    + Review CAD models to determine optimal machining strategies.

    + Optimize and validate CNC programs to improve cycle times and tool life.

    + **Setup and Operation:**

    + Set up CNC milling machines, including the selection and installation of tooling, fixtures, and material.

    + Operate CNC machinery and monitor the machining process to ensure it meets specifications.

    + Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.

    + **Quality Assurance:**

    + Conduct first article inspections and in-process quality checks using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).

    + Address any non-conformities by adjusting machining processes or recommending design adjustments.

    + **Collaboration and Communication:**

    + Work closely with engineers, designers, and other team members to resolve issues related to programming and machining processes.

    + Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.

    + **Documentation:**

    + Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of programming files, setup sheets, and maintenance logs.

    + Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures.

    Qualifications:

    + **Education and Experience:**

    + High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in machining or related field preferred.

    + Minimum 1 years of experience in CNC programming and machining.
