Please review the following job description:
This position will report to the Senior Investment Portfolio Manager and will work closely with other team members across Corporate Treasury as well as other stakeholders throughout the organization. Actively assist in the day to day management of the bank’s proprietary ~$150 billion securities portfolio of fixed income investments which provides stable income, liquidity, interest rate risk management and capital management objectives on behalf of Market Risk, Liquidity, and Capital Committee (MRLCC) . Provide support to Corporate Treasury in meeting its overall objectives.
Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Assist senior management in making sound investment decisions in achieving objectives
2. Perform wide range of analytical processes involving securities and strategies being evaluated for the investment portfolio
3. Generate month end portfolio risk metrics to create Spot, Shock, and Cash Flow reporting via SAS processing. Compile MRLCC presentation based on results
4. Utilize S&P Capital IQ (SNL) platform, and other financial data sources, to provide in depth peer securities portfolio and balance sheet analysis
5. Keep policies and procedures current and manage work flows in Policy & Procedure Management
6. Monitor markets – rates, monetary / fiscal policy, dealer research, mortgage / credit / economic trends
7. Assist traders with pre-purchase analysis (agency securities and credit related securities)
8. Read and analyze published financial information and dealer research that is applicable
9. Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration
2. One to two years of treasury or market experience, with prior experience in bank treasury preferred
3. General understanding of financial markets and fixed income securities valuation
4. Ability to interact with all levels of management
5 Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency- while providing accurate analysis
6 Interest in financial markets
7 Strong proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office applications
8 Ability to think analytically and critically
9 Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
10 Ability to operate effectively in a team environment and a desire to work on a wide range of projects
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent education, e.g. MS Economics or Finance and / or CFA designation
2. Two years or more of fixed income experience
3. Familiarity with Bloomberg, Yield Book, QRM, INTEX, and other trading/market-based applications.
4. Basic understanding of general accounting rules/regulations as it relates to bond portfolios, banking procedures/processes, and understanding of computer/automated general ledger systems
