NOTICE OF VACANCY
Education Teacher Pathways Project Coordinator
Classification: MnSCU Academic Professional 3
Unlimited, Full-Time
Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
*A flexible work schedule may be approved with up to two days remote work per week (if applicable)
Salary Range: Hourly from $27.84 to $40.82; Annually from $58,130 to $85,232

ABOUT THE POSITION
This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing Normandale’s Sirtify program. This program’s purpose is to recruit Black, African American, and African men into the first two years of elementary and secondary teacher education programs, and provide supports so that successfully complete their degree.
Key responsibilities are:
+ Student recruitment and retention
+ Provision of student supports
+ Budget management
+ Fundraising
+ Community engagement
+ Support for student transfer and job placement
This position plays a critical role in advancing Normandale’s efforts to increase representation of underrepresented populations as teachers in K-12 education. This position also advances the college’s strategic goals of achieving racial equity in educational outcomes, associate degree completion or baccalaureate degree completion of 50% or better, and a college culture that is culturally competent and service oriented.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must have one (1) year of full-time experience working in higher education with academic programs, enrollment management, or student affairs.
+ Familiarity with barriers faced by underrepresented students.
+ Budget management experience
+ Expertise in crafting communication strategies tailored to diverse internal and external stakeholders.
+ Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to implement innovative strategies to improve student retention and success.
Preferred Qualification
+ Bachelor’s degree in student affairs, higher education, or related field.
+ Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders.
+ Exceptional communication skills to craft culturally and linguistically resonant messages for diverse student populations.
+ K-12 Teaching Experience.
+ Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
+ Experience leading student programming that targets students from historically marginalized communities.
