About the Team

Join a fast-moving team at Nutanix building Nutanix Database Service (NDB)—a leading Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform that powers database management at scale across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. We design core software for autonomous database operations, delivering efficiency, agility, and innovation. Our collaborative, high-impact team values technical excellence and creative problem-solving.

You will report to the Sr. Manager, Engineering, who fosters a supportive and transparent leadership style, emphasizing open communication and collaboration within the team. The work setup is flexible, with a hybrid model allowing for a combination of remote and on-site work. The new hire is expected to be in the office for an average of 3 days a week, promoting team cohesion while also accommodating for remote work flexibility.

Your Role

+ Design and develop scalable distributed systems in database management

+ Engage in design/code reviews and define development & test best practices

+ Collaborate with architects, tech leads, and product managers to drive clarity on tasks and project outcomes

+ Work full stack (UI/Backend/Dev-Ops) to achieve your project outcomes.

+ Manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines.

+ Work in a geographically distributed team setup

What You Will Bring

+ Enthusiastic about building & scaling distributed systems

+ 0-12< months of programming skills in Golang, Java, Python, or React.js

+ Knowledge about Database management systems (both SQL and NoSQL)

+ Understanding of orchestrator/ workflow management systems like Temporal or Apache Airflow

+ Understanding of Kubernetes and containers

+ Knowledge about microservices and data processing frameworks

+ "Think big, start small, make it happen" mindset.

+ A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required

Meet Hiring Manager - Krunal Jhaveri

I joined Nutanix NDB in 2021, leading the development effort for NDB Control Plane and the developer ecosystem in the US. Prior to Nutanix, I have worked with VMware, Cisco, and Microsoft, building and managing efficient enterprise software services. I’m inspired by the opportunity to build a small team to build a hybrid multi-cloud service in the multi-billion-dollar DBaaS space. I’m also passionate about contributing to open-source projects. I look forward to working with innovative, passionate young engineers, experiencing the journey from idea to product.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $120,000 and USD $180,000 per year.

However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

**Hybrid:** This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week. However, certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Your manager will provide additional team-specific guidance and norms.
