The Unit Coordinator performs clerical and administrative duties in support of patient care providers, medical staff, patients, their significant others, blended and extended family members, and outside agencies.

Responsibilities

+ Promptly answers phones, relaying messages as appropriate

+ Collaborates effectively with the unit charge nurse and/or care manager to identify bed needs and/or unit needs

+ Transcribes orders in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with policies.

Requirements/Qualifications

+ High school graduate or equivalent

+ Effective communication skills

+ Self-motivated, independent, organized and able to prioritize work

+ Ability to successfully complete the Mount Carmel Unit Coordinator Training Program
