The Residency Coordinator is a key member of the Emergency Medicine Residency leadership team and is responsible for the day-to-day administrative support and operational management of the University of Connecticut Integrated Emergency Residency Program in Emergency Medicine. The coordinator ensures compliance with all ACGME, institutional, and departmental policies and requirements. This role functions as a liaison between residents, faculty, hospital administration, and external regulatory bodies and plays a critical part in supporting the educational mission of the program.
What You Will Do:
+ Serve as the primary point of contact for the residency program, including communications with applicants, residents, faculty, and ACGME representatives.
+ Coordinate and maintain accreditation documentation and program compliance with ACGME and institutional GME office standards.
+ Oversee and manage residency databases and software systems (e.g., MedHub, New Innovations, ERAS, NRMP).
+ Manage recruitment activities including application processing, interview scheduling, candidate communications, and match process.
+ Organize resident onboarding, orientation, schedules, evaluations, and graduation.
+ Maintain accurate records of resident performance evaluations, milestones, and duty hours as needed.
+ Assists in coordination of completion of medical records for residents rotating in the Emergency Department. Coordinate didactic conference scheduling, faculty development sessions, and resident wellness activities.
+ Support site visits and internal reviews by preparing documentation, compiling data, and organizing materials.
+ Track and reconcile budgets and program-related expenses in collaboration with departmental administration.
+ Provide administrative support to the Program Leadership and department as required.
+ Foster a supportive environment for residents and promote effective communication within the program.

32 hours, Day Shift
Job Requirements:
+ Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in a healthcare, education, or administrative field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. TAGME certification or willingness to obtain certification within two years, preferred.
+ 2+ years of administrative experience, preferably in graduate medical education or a healthcare setting required. Knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards and GME program operations, preferred.
+ Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn GME-specific software platforms, required. Knowledge of ERAS, NRMP, MedHub, or similar platforms, preferred.
+ Other departmental administrative tasks as required.
